Visa policies can vary based on your nationality, the purpose of your visit, the type of Canadian visa you hold, and any bilateral agreements between Canada and other countries. Always ensure you have the necessary visas and comply with the entry requirements before planning any international travel.
As of my last update in September 2021, the Canadian visa allows you to visit several countries without the need for additional visas. However, visa policies can change over time, so it’s essential to check with the official Canadian government website or the embassy/consulate of the country you plan to visit for the most up-to-date information. Here are some examples of countries that Canadian visa holders could visit:
United States: Canadian visa holders can generally enter the United States for tourism, business, or transit purposes without a separate U.S. visa, thanks to the Canada-United States visa exemption agreement.
European Union (Schengen Area): Canadian citizens with a valid visa can travel to the Schengen Area in Europe for short stays (usually up to 90 days within a 180-day period) without needing a separate visa for each Schengen country.
Mexico: Canadians can visit Mexico for tourism purposes without a visa, but they may need to obtain a tourist card (FMM) upon arrival.
Australia: Canadian passport holders can apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) or an eVisitor visa online, allowing them to visit Australia for up to 90 days for tourism or business purposes.
New Zealand: Canadians can visit New Zealand for up to 90 days without a visa for tourism purposes.
Japan: Canada is one of the countries eligible for visa exemption in Japan, allowing Canadian visitors to stay for up to 90 days for tourism or business purposes.
South Korea: Canadian passport holders can visit South Korea for up to 180 days without a visa for tourism, transit, or business purposes.
Brazil: Canadians can visit Brazil for up to 90 days within a 180-day period for tourism or business purposes without a visa.
United Arab Emirates: Canadian citizens can obtain a visa on arrival at UAE airports, allowing them to stay for up to 90 days for tourism or business.
It’s important to note that visa policies can change, and specific conditions may apply to each country, such as the purpose of your visit and the duration of stay. Always verify the visa requirements before making any travel plans to ensure a smooth and hassle-free journey.
